Camtasia for mac quizzes1/11/2024 Just moving everything on the one track will lead to disaster because all the other clips - annotation, voice overs, quizzes, etc - will go out of sync. To do that it seemed you had select them all and move them together, which is a pain and prone to error - it's easy to miss something, perhaps on a track that is hidden. The issue was that before you can do that you have to move the clips on the right out of the way. Rlev - that an option drag adds freeze frames was established by Stephen Wagner. Apps like Final Cut Pro X have more sophisticated ways of joining up audio with video, but I think even then you would have to retime manually. Again, this is nothing that Camtasia can foresee or address. If it is important that a particular passage of music starts on a particular frame of the movie, then you will have to remove a similar amount of video elsewhere to that which you added. Adding markers on the timeline where you want the beats to fall might help. If you have timed events in your movie to the beats in the music, you will of course have to redo that, but I can't see how that could be avoided, that would be the case in any editor. You may of course have to extend the right hand part of the clip as it will now fall short of the end. True riev, and mostly that is what you want to keep your voice overs in sync, but if you have, say, a music track that is just playing in the background which you want to be continuous, all you need to do is drag the right hand part of the audio clip back over to join the left hand part of the clip and it will play seamlessly (drag the whole clip, do not extend it). Who has time to sit through a whole video to find out the one thing you want to know.) (PS by documentation I mean the printed word. It's a pretty good quick editor for tutorial videos, but better documentation would surely help all the cries for help on the forums. This is probably the 5th or 6th time I have found that Camtasia can do things that are not documented and that not even the people who produce the documentation know about. There is nothing about using the red and green playhead markers other than to mention it selects a portion of the track and no mention of extend time. InCamtasia 9-3 Help.pdf it specifically states extend frame is for Windows only, and in Camtasia Hotkeys 9-3.pdf there is a blank against the Mac. The frame that was under the playhead is extended over the desired time. Hold the option(alt) key down while you drag the right hand edge of the left clip to the right. Everything on all the tracks to the right of the playhead moves to the right to make room.Ĥ. Right click on the shaded area that results and choose Insert Time. Drag out the red playhead marker to the right to the extent you would like the freeze frame to stretch to.ģ. Place the playhead where you want to extended (freeze? hold?) the frame.Ģ. This, like a lot of stuff in Camtasia 3, is not documented as far as I can tell.ġ. On Camtasia 3 for Mac, you CAN extend/freeze/hold a frame over several frames! I have just tried it. Well well, at last! Stephen Wagner set me on the right trail.
